We at Family Story make videos of family members talking about their lives; those people, places and events that make up each family’s story.

Video, unlike still photographs, gives an opportunity to capture both the personalities of speakers and the liveliness of the story. Speakers or storytellers, as we call them, can be of any age, recording either distant memories or recent milestones in their lives. The video can be commissioned by the storytellers themselves or as a gift, perhaps from one generation of the family to another.

Our videos are intended to be family heirlooms. As such, they have to have the highest quality camera work, lighting, sound and editing. This we guarantee. The film also needs a structure and here we help the storytellers select and arrange the key stories in the most effective way and, of course, we intersplice family photos and documents to illustrate the points.

Finally - and most importantly - we aim to make the whole project interesting and entertaining for both the storytellers and the rest of the family.
